When the vessel reached the port, almost everyone was standing on the deck and they fell due to hitting the quay. About 30 people were injured.

The injured passengers were taken to nearby hospitals. Most of them had only minor injuries, while the condition of one was said to be more serious.

The Naples Port Authority and Coast Guard have launched an investigation into the accident. They said they would investigate a possible mechanical failure of the vessel, human error or a sudden change in weather and sea conditions during the docking maneuver.
