Tusk also said he would support it nomination of the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kaia Kallas to one of the highest positions in the EU.

According to unofficial information, Kallas, whose Estonian Reform Party (ER) is a member of the liberal Renew Europe group in the European Parliament, may become the head of EU diplomacy.

Earlier, an EU source said that premier Donald Tusk together with other leaders of the European People's Party (EPP), agrees on the strategy for the EU summit dedicated to appointing the highest positions in the EU. The head of the Polish government met with the Prime Minister of Greece, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and the leader of the German CDU, Friedrich Merz, and the leader of the Spanish People's Party (PP), Alberto Feijoo.
Tusk and Mitsotakis, as heads of government, will participate in the evening at the informal meeting of the European Council, which will be responsible for filling the highest positions in the EU.
