On Friday morning, there was an ammonia leak at the bakery plant in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. Two people were taken to the hospital.
The press officer of the district commander of the State Fire Service in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki, Captain Paweł Plagowski, informed that the report was received at 6.55.
– There was a leak of about a kilogram of ammonia from the technological installation at the plant. There were about 100 employees in this zone who were evacuated to a safe place, the firefighter said.
He noted that nine fire brigades were on site in the first phase of the operation. – The leak was quickly stopped and the valve was closed. However, some amount entered the air, although the concentration was not high, he added.
Firefighters used fans to ventilate the rooms and monitored the air composition. – People reported feeling unwell. An emergency medical team arrived at the scene and examined 10 people. Two of them were taken to hospital for further tests, said Captain Plagowski.
All troops have already returned to the barracks.
