Firefighters from Ożarów Mazowiecki were called to the fire on Saturday. When they were leaving their unit on the signal, their gate was blocked by a van driver who wanted to… turn around. Firefighters notice that there are more similar incidents and appeal to drivers to be reasonable.

Firefighters posted information about the incident on social media. On Saturday at 16.10 they received a report about a fire on the border of the communes of Macierzysz – Babice Stare, where garbage, tires and bushes caught fire.

He blocked the firemen’s exit because he wanted to turn back

“They were deployed in a heavy fire truck. Once the signals were on and the gate was open, the driver set off. Then the driver of a black van, which was making a U-turn, blocked his way. Thus, he blocked the exit of firefighters. Of course, everything happened in one moment and did not cause any dramatic difficulties or delays in reaching the fire – described tvnwarszawa.pl reporter Artur Węgrzynowicz.

In a conversation with a reporter, however, firefighters point out the lack of imagination of the Ford driver. – Seeing the fire truck, flashing lights and open gate, all he thinks about is himself and turning around. Regardless of the fact that at that time firefighters are going to the event, and he blocks their way – describes Węgrzynowicz. And he points out: – We can talk about exceptional thoughtlessness here.

Our reporter also pointed out that firefighters often inform about drivers parking in front of the entrances to their units. They leave cars in front of the exit gates, blocking the exit of fire trucks for action. – Especially in small towns, where there are often bazaars by the watchtower – he reserved.
