“Kaczyński, what are you smoking there? We already have copies,” wrote Donald Tusk on social media. Opposition politicians are increasingly vocal about suspicions of the destruction of documents by the outgoing government. – We hear that shredders are overheating in ministries – said Marcin Kulasek from Nowa Lewica in the “Tak jest” program on TVN24. Katarzyna Piekarska from the Civic Coalition also noted that “maybe some of the evidence is being destroyed.”

“Kaczyński, what are you smoking there? We already have copies,” Tusk wrote on social media. The candidate for the new prime minister’s comment appeared on a day when more and more opposition politicians are speaking louder and louder about suspicions of destroying documents in government institutions before handing over power to the new government.

Earlier, Michał Szczerba, an MP from the Civic Coalition, wrote about similar signals.

“I’m receiving reports of hundreds of bags of ground documents being taken away at night, specialists being hastily sought for damaging hard drives, and the first flooded laptops. Scenes like from the movie ‘Dogs’!” – wrote (original spelling – ed.).

“I warn all state officials… Covering up the traces of a crime is also a crime (original spelling – ed.),” he added.

In turn, the head of the Left club, Krzysztof Gawkowski, said in an interview with RMF that he had information that “some dangerous process of destroying documents has started” in the Ministry of National Defense and the army. – I also hear that some movements have started in the Ministry of Justice regarding the cleaning of the archives and what was transferred from regional prosecutor’s offices to the National Prosecutor’s Office – he added.

Kulasek: we hear that shredders are overheating in ministries

The guests of the “Tak jest” program – Katarzyna Piekarska from the Civic Coalition and Marcin Kulasek from the New Left – also spoke about the signals received regarding the destruction of documents by the government camp.

Consultations with parties after the elections. Andrzej Duda: I will have a list of questions. It will be sacramental

Marcin Kulasek estimated that the period until mid-November, when the first session of the Sejm of the new term will probably be held, is “perhaps the additional month that PiS needs to sort things out.” – We hear that shredders are overheating in ministries, that they are being bought, and that they are simply burning down. Maybe that’s what it’s for. We will correct all errors PiS – the New Left politician continued.

According to Kulasek, “the president only puts a good face on a bad game or powders the reality.” – Law and Justice won elections, but Law and Justice lost the elections. These are the facts, he added.

Piekarska: perhaps some of the evidence is being destroyed

Katarzyna Piekarska also spoke about the need to settle accounts after the PiS government.

– There are a lot of scandals that we have to settle because people voted for us to settle these scandals. Because the prosecutor’s office either discontinued the cases or continues them to this day, drags them on and nothing happens. So perhaps some of the evidence is being destroyed, she said.

She added that she hoped that the president would “simply behave responsibly” and entrust the mission of forming a government to a representative of the democratic opposition.

Government spokesman: documents are recorded, they cannot simply be destroyed

Earlier on Friday, government spokesman Piotr Mueller was asked about the statements of opposition politicians about the destruction of documents in government institutions on the Third Program of Polish Radio.

– There is a register of documents, especially classified documents, each of these documents has its own, separate number and it is impossible to delete documents that are deposited in various types of repositories in the way these gentlemen say – they probably saw it in movies. Similarly, electronic documents in ministries are recorded in the so-called EZD (electronic document management system – ed.) and other electronic systems – replied the government spokesman. He added that some documents are kept only in paper form, but “they are recorded in such a way that they cannot be removed from the files.”

– There is an indication of the document that it was created, what it was about, and so on – Mueller said. – Perhaps MP Gawkowski or others have watched some films and are now trying to transfer this film reality into reality. I can only smile because such things simply do not happen, he said.
