A 22-year-old who was carried away by the magic of Christmas was checked by Pomeranian police officers. Their attention was caught by the Christmas lights attached to the car. He had to dismantle them on site to keep the registration certificate.
On Saturday, just before Christmas, Pomeranian police stopped a driver from Bytów County who had decorated his car with colorful Christmas tree lights. He attached the lights to the roof, doors and trunk of the vehicle.
“The 22-year-old cannot be denied his ingenuity, but such lighting exceeds permissible standards and poses a threat to other road users,” police officers from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Gdańsk informed on their social media.
It took three minutes to dismantle the lights
However, he lacked the ability to predict threats. This type of decorations could seriously affect the field of view of other road users.
“After an hour and a half of tuning the Beetle, it was time to remove the lights, which took only three minutes, but allowed the driver to keep the registration certificate and continue the journey,” the officers said.
