A 26-year-old motorcyclist has died after colliding head-on with a passenger car overtaking other vehicles near Kielce on Thursday evening. The Honda passenger car also hit three other cars. The 48-year-old driver lost his driving license. The man's blood was also taken for testing for alcohol and drugs.
The tragic incident occurred on Thursday around 8:30 p.m. on provincial road number 786 in Promnik near Kielce. There was an accident there involving a motorcycle and four passenger cars.
– The man riding the bike died on the spot. One person from the car required examination by the emergency medical team – told us senior firefighter Beata Gizowska, spokeswoman for the Kielce fire brigade.
Police: the car was overtaking and there was a collision
As junior aspirant Małgorzata Perkowska-Kiepas, press officer of the Kielce police, emphasized, the motorcycle collided head-on with a Honda passenger car.
– The head-on collision most likely occurred when the 48-year-old driver of the Honda was overtaking a line of vehicles. After the collision with the motorcycle, the Honda collided with a Dacia car and ultimately both vehicles drove into a drainage ditch. As a result of this incident, plastic parts from vehicles damaged the Hyundai, while the motorcycle hit a Peugeot Partner and an Audi, the spokeswoman said.
All cars were moving towards Łopuszno. The police determined that the victim of the accident was a 26-year-old resident of this commune.
– The 48-year-old driver of the Honda had his driving license suspended, and the man's blood was also taken to check for alcohol and drugs – said Perkowska-Kiepas.
