Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Pieskov referred to the statement of European leaders who want to suspend weapons for at least 30 days. Earlier he said that Russia “cannot be intimidated” with the threat of sanctions. After a few hours, he stated that the proposal should be “thought out”.

Earlier, Pieskov – as Russian agencies informed – accused the European countries that their statements were “contradictory” and “confrontational”, he also announced that Russia could not be intimidated with the threat of sanctions.
– We've already got used to the sanctions. We even imagine what we will do after their announcement, how we minimize their impact. We learned it. An attempt to intimidate us with sanctions is a waste of time – Dmitry Pieskov said earlier on the same day.
– We hear many contradictory statements from Europe. They are, in general, confrontational rather than aimed at renewing our relationships. Nothing more – he said.
He added that “it is very difficult to isolate a country like Russia, because it is a very large part of the world.” – Russia effectively develops relations with a large number of countries, basically in all areas where there is interest in the development of cooperation with our country – he argued.

He also interviewed the American ABC television station before the statements of European leaders. As Moscow Times said, Pieskow stated in it that in order for a 30-day suspension of weapons between Russia and Ukraine, Western countries would have to stop the supply of weapons to Kiev. Otherwise – he noted – Kiev will use this period for mobilization, rotation, training new soldiers and reconstruction of existing forces. – Why should we give Ukraine such a chance? – the spokesperson asked Vladimir Putin.
