The Operational Command of the Armed Forces reported that on Monday, fighters from the Malbork base intercepted a Russian Federation Il-20 plane that took off from an airport in the Konigsberg Oblast.

The Operational Command wrote that “on May 6, the MiG-29 duty pair from the 22nd Tactical Air Base in Malbork intercepted and visually identified the aircraft of the Russian Federation.”

“The protection of Polish airspace is the foundation of our country's security. Thanks to the efficient operation of ground staff and aircraft crews, we can be sure that we are protected against air threats,” emphasized the Operational Command.
