As reported on Sunday by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian National Guard (Rosgvardia) shot six soldiers who wanted to surrender to Ukrainian captivity.
The incident took place on Thursday near Chistopilla in the Zaporizhia region, part of which is under Russian occupation. Such actions are aimed at maintaining military discipline and preventing the spread of panic among the soldiers of the occupying forces.
Kadyrovtsy in Rosgvardiya
Rosgvardia, led by General Viktor Zolotov, former head of personal security Vladimir Putinwas established in 2016 on the basis of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Russia. A significant percentage of soldiers of this formation in the Russian North Caucasus are the so-called Kadyrovtsy – special forces of the leader of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov.
General Staff of the Armed Forces Ukraine he also stated that in order to discredit the Ukrainian command, the Russians are spreading disinformation about Ukrainian troops preparing to shell medical facilities in the occupied territories of the Luhansk region where wounded Russian soldiers are being treated.
