Tragic fire in a single-family house in Rybnik. The fire completely destroyed the room on the first floor. Firefighters found the charred body of an approximately 60-year-old woman. One of the rescuers fell to the ground floor through the burnt ceiling. He has a knee injury and is in hospital.
The fire in Rybnik occurred on Monday at 10:39 a.m. in a one-story single-family house at 1 Maja Street in the Chwałowice district.

– The report mentioned smoke in the attic. On site, it turned out that there was a fire in the apartment on the first floor – describes the spokesman for the State Fire Service in Rybnik, aspirant Wojciech Kasperzec.
– All the furnishings in the room burned down, including the windows and doors, as well as the wooden ceiling. Lots of destruction. For us firefighters, this is a very serious event, because there was a fatality – adds Kasperzec.
There was a woman in the burning room. When firefighters found her, she was already dead. According to the State Fire Service, she was about 60 years old. The police do not provide details, referring to the prosecutor’s office in Rybnik. The prosecutor is still working on site. We only learned that the body was charred and may require identification to confirm its identity.

The fireman fell to the ground floor
