Firefighters rescued a dog that was trapped in the Vistula floodplain. To reach it, they had to go through deep water and reeds. They took the dog on the ice board.
On Tuesday after 6 pm, the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Grudziądz received a report about a trapped dog in the Vistula backwaters in Parski in the Grudziądz poviat (Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship). Two fire engines were dispatched to the spot.
– We received a report about a dog that was trapped in a floodplain in Parski. The owner of the quadruped indicated the place where he was located – said junior brigadier Paweł Korgol, press officer of Grudziądz firemen.
They used an ice board
He added that the dog was in the reeds in the Vistula floodplain. “Firefighters had to rush to the scene. Equipped with equipment for work in reins – vests and an ice board – they walked through quite deep water and took the dog on the board – he emphasized.
The animal was safely pulled ashore and handed over to its owner.
