The operation of the Tatra Volunteer Rescue Service in the area of the pass under Kopa Kondracka from the Tatra Mountains lasted seven hours. Tourists who were unable to continue their trip due to strong winds called for help.
The tourists called for help on Monday at 14.27. According to TOPR, they were unable to go further due to strong wind, limited visibility and a lot of snow. They got stuck on the trail between Kasprowy Wierch and Suchy Wierch Kondracki.
TOPR rescue operation
Rescuers rushed to the spot. The two rode the cable car to Kasprowy Wierch, and then went towards the tourists. On the spot, however, it turned out that the woman complained of leg pain and needed help with transport.
“From the TOPR Headquarters on a snowmobile and a Traxter vehicle to the Kondratowa Valley with all the necessary equipment, another 7 rescuers set off. Both groups met in the vicinity of the Pod Kopą Kondracka Pass, where after packing the tourist into a SKED stretcher, she was lowered to the Kondratowa Valley, from where she was transported to Zakopane” – the rescuers say in a message.

TOPR reminds you that the third degree of avalanche danger applies in the Tatra Mountains. “Tourist conditions due to strong wind and constantly falling snow are not favorable! We call for a reasonable selection of hiking routes” – mountain climbers write.
