She is more than a singer – she is a phenomenon. Tickets to her concerts are the most valuable asset in the world of showbiz, and fans are willing to pay any money for them. Taylor Swift is perhaps the biggest star in the world and has just been named Person of the Year 2023 by Time magazine.

She is no longer just a singer, not just a pop star – she is a 33-year-old billionaire, a cultural and social phenomenon, and now also Time magazine’s person of the year 2023. We’re talking about Taylor Swift – a multi-instrumentalist from Pennsylvania.

– She works in many ways, she is a brilliant businesswoman. She became a billionaire this year, mainly thanks to her music and concert tours, which doesn’t happen very often. There are very few women billionaires in general, says Kelly Conniff, deputy editor-in-chief of Time.

Swift breaks another glass ceiling, because for the first time in the newspaper’s history the man of the year title was awarded for artistic achievements. The singer also became the fourth winner under 50 years of age.

“She is committed to giving value to the dreams, feelings and experiences of people, especially women, who feel neglected and regularly undervalued,” said Sam Jacobs, editor-in-chief of Time.

She recorded her albums again

Despite her young age, she has been building her empire for a second decade – so she is a veteran in her industry. As the editors of “Time” explain, this year was completely special for her.

– Her three albums became number one this year. This is the second time this has happened. Interestingly, none of these albums debuted in the last 12 months. She just re-recorded them. This is a specific project, part of her overall narrative about herself, points out Kelly Conniff.

The artist recorded three albums completely from scratch to regain full rights to her songs. This is the result of a dispute with Kanye West’s former manager, who bought shares in Big Machine Records and became a co-owner of the rights to Swift’s discography, to which she did not want to agree.

“I’ve already said a lot about why I needed to record my first six albums. The way I’m doing it is to show what my motivations are. Artists should have rights to their own work for so many reasons, but the most obvious one is that the artist really knows this work,” she wrote on Instagram.

The Eras Tour, which Swift started in March, consists of as many as 153 events around the world. This is a response to huge interest. – She is very smart and devoted to her fans. She says she knows people have had trouble getting tickets to her concert. For her, that means she’ll be playing every night. Sometimes he’s on stage for 3.5 hours or more.
