The administration and internal affairs committee supported the Senate’s veto on the law proposed by PiS to establish a commission to investigate Russian influence.

The Parliamentary Committee on Administration and Internal Affairs on Tuesday after 3.30 p.m. dealt with the proposed by PiS deputies Act on the establishment of a commission to investigate Russian influence on the internal security of the Republic of Poland in 2007-2022.

Resolution of the Senate to reject the bill. There is a recommendation from the Sejm

The commission is to operate on principles similar to those of the verification commission for reprivatization in Warsaw. The decisions that the committee could take include, among others, a ban on performing functions related to the disposal of public funds for up to 10 years, and the withdrawal and banning of security clearance for 10 years.

Members of the commission considered the resolution of the Senate on the rejection of the bill on the establishment of a commission to investigate Russian influence. Forty members of the committee took part in the vote, 21 members voted “for” the Senate resolution and 19 members voted against it.
