“Ukraine is no longer a sovereign state, it is only a protectorate of the West” – these scandalous words were said by Viktor Orban in Brussels at the conference of national conservative leaders, i.e. leaders of right-wing and far-right parties from Europe, the United States and Israel. The meeting was also attended by former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who criticized Orban's words only after returning to Warsaw.

Viktor Orban remains in the spotlight. The Hungarian Prime Minister spoke about Ukraine in Brussels like Putin. – Ukraine is no longer a sovereign state, it is now only a Western protectorate. Without money and weapons from the European Union and the United States, Ukraine as a state would cease to exist, Orban said.

At the conference, no one criticized Orban for his scandalous words about Ukraine

These words were spoken at the NatCon conference in Brussels, which was attended by right-wing and far-right politicians from Europe, Israel and the United States, calling themselves national conservatives. No one criticized Orban for his scandalous statements about Ukraine. Even guests from Poland. Former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki emphasized the importance of freedom of speech in his speech. – Freedom of speech is a basic human right that should be exercised without fear of retaliation and censorship – said Morawiecki. He referred to his political friend's words only in Poland, answering a question asked by a TVN24 journalist. – I fundamentally and completely disagree with the first part of the editor's question. Ukraine is not only a sovereign state, Ukraine is fighting fiercely for its sovereignty, but also for our security. As for the second part of the question, unfortunately we can agree. Without the help of the United States, without the help of the West, a large part of Ukraine would probably be taken over by the Russian army in a very short few months, Morawiecki said.

Law and Justice MEPs Ryszard Legutko and Jacek Saryusz-Wolski also delivered speeches at the Brussels conference. Instead of Russian imperialism, they talked about the alleged domination of France and Germany and the “colonizers” from Brussels who are trying to conquer Central and Eastern Europe. – Colonizers residing in the bureaucratic structures of Brussels, Paris, Strasbourg, Luxembourg or other large power centers, fortunately, do not have as easy a task as they initially thought – said Ryszard Legutko, MEP from Law and Justice.

– If the situation from Europe were transferred to America, the United States would be ruled by Texas and California, and the remaining states would have nothing to say. The duo of France and Germany are privileged in this way by the voting system in the EU – emphasized Jacek Saryusz-Wolski, MEP from Law and Justice.

The conference took place, the right wing is talking about censorship

The right-wing conference gained unexpected publicity after the mayor of the Brussels district of Saint-Josse decided to interrupt the event for security reasons. As he claimed, for fear of being invaded by antifascists. A police patrol informed the organizers about this decision, so politicians immediately presented it as evidence that they were being persecuted. – The police are encouraged to come and close this conference. The local authorities even talked to the catering companies, so the food didn't arrive, the plates didn't arrive. Worst of all, the drinks didn't arrive either, joked Niger Farage, former leader of the UK Independence Party.

However, the conference took place because the mayor's decision was invalidated by the Belgian Council of State – the highest judicial instance in administrative matters. The liberal Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, who is extremely far from the far right, wrote: “The ban on political meetings is unconstitutional. Period.”

But the right still talks about censorship. – The attempts of the radical left to stop this conference make our meeting all the more important and all the more satisfying – said Suella Braverman, former British Home Secretary. Viktor Orban spoke the loudest about freedom while attacking Ukraine. According to the Hungarian Prime Minister, it should never be allowed to join the European Union or NATO.
