The Marshall Islands-flagged bulk carrier Glory ran aground in the Suez Canal, Reuters reported. The work of tugboats is underway, trying to put the ship in the right position. The incident has no impact on traffic on one of the world’s most important waterways.
The Glory ran aground near the port of Al-Kantara while joining a southbound convoy. Tugs try to push the bulk carrier into deeper water.
According to Osama Rabie, the chairman of the canal management company, the event does not affect the cargo and passenger traffic that takes place on the canal.
