The representative of the Ukrainian army, Oleksiy Dmytrashkivsky, said on Tuesday that Russian troops in the direction of Avdiivka (Donetsk region) are increasingly using chemical weapons. Near the village of Vodyane, a Russian drone dropped a grenade probably containing chloropicrin.
– Near the village of Wodjane, ammunition with a chemical substance was dropped from an unmanned aerial vehicle. It could have been a K-51 grenade, the spokesman said, quoted by the Suspilne portal. The pomegranate probably contained chloropicrin.
He estimated that the Russians are increasingly using chemical weapons – for example, last week there were about 12 attempts to drop such ammunition from Russian air reconnaissance drones.
Ukraine repels Russian attacks
Dmytrashkivsky assured that the Ukrainian forces repulsed the last Russian attacks near Avdiivka, Marjinka and Karliwka. There is fierce fighting in the area of these cities; The Russians attack using tanks and armored vehicles.
The fact that the Russians use chloropicrin grenades dropped from drones was reported by the Ukrainian army in December last year. Chloropicrin is a volatile liquid that was used as a warfare poison during the First World War.
