The city of Wuhledar in Donetsk region was a pillar between the southern and eastern fronts, but the limited successes of the Russian army there likely came at a high price.

Reuters recalled that according to reports from the front, during one of the attacks, the Russians lost at least 30 armored vehicles. The equipment was abandoned on the road.

According to independent Russian sources, Russian troops recently suffered heavy losses in the Wuhledar area. We are talking about dozens of lost tanks and armored personnel carriers, the Russian section of Radio Svoboda reported earlier.

The American company Maxar Technologies has published satellite images showing the damage around Wuhledar resulting from the intense fighting in this area.

Former Donetsk separatist leader Igor Girkin (also known as Strelkov) wrote on the Telegram channel that Russian losses turned out to be “one-sided”. “Ukrainians shot at the attackers as if on a shooting range and held their positions without much difficulty” – commented Girkin.

The assessment that the Russians suffered particularly heavy losses at Wuhledar also appeared in the intelligence information published by the UK Ministry of Defence. “Russian troops probably escaped and abandoned at least 30 mostly intact armored vehicles at one time after a failed assault,” the ministry said.

The positions of Ukrainian forces in Wuhledar have been held since the beginning of the armed invasion, Reuters wrote. The agency quoted entries by Russian pro-war bloggers who called the Russian attacks in this section an “expensive fiasco”. The Gray Zone, the semi-official channel of the Wagner Group mercenary formation on Telegram, assessed that “catastrophe unfolds around Wuhledar every time.”

The Russian Ministry of Defense does not inform about defeats at the front near Wuhledar.
