Information regarding the planned Ukrainian counter-offensive against Russian troops is strictly confidential. Three to five people around the world know about the details of this operation, Oleksiy Danilov, secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, was quoted by UNIAN on Thursday.
– Once this (attack – ed.) begins, everyone will be able to see it. Then you will understand that what we expected has begun. Where, when, at what time – these issues are currently absolutely inaccessible (to a wide audience – ed.). Remember this, Danilov said on Wednesday evening in an interview with Radio Svoboda.

A representative of the authorities in Kiev warned against trusting people unrelated to the government who speak publicly about the planned military operations. “Such reports do not necessarily have to be true,” noted the head of the NSDC.
Reports on the Ukrainian counter-offensive
In recent weeks, various assumptions have been made in the Ukrainian and Western media, as well as in analytical studies, regarding the timing and direction of Kiev’s spring counter-offensive against Russian troops. It is speculated that the attack may take place in the Zaporizhia, Kherson or Luhansk regions. The Ukrainian authorities emphasize that the necessary condition for this operation is to gather the appropriate number of soldiers and train them, as well as to prepare for use the weapons provided by the Western allies, including Leopard 2 and Challenger tanks.
– I read with admiration the Western press, which knows from which direction the attack will come and when it will come. Such decisions are made during closed meetings of the president with military commanders, Danilov said a few days ago in an interview with PAP.
Danilov: Russia has not abandoned its plans to liquidate Volodymyr Zelensky
– The Russian Federation has not withdrawn from its agenda the task of eliminating Volodymyr Zelensky. They failed to physically liquidate the head of the Ukrainian state, so now they will try to liquidate it politically, Danilov said in an interview with Radio Svoboda. Taking this into account, “many trials on Ukrainian territory should be carefully analyzed,” he added.
– Russia wants the political liquidation of our president, because he showed the whole world and proved that he is the leader of the nation, the leader of the country. The Russians don’t like it. Volodymyr Zelensky demonstrates exemplary loyalty, decency and many other virtues, and the Russian president is the number one terrorist in the world staying in the bunker. Imagine how upset they are, continued the Secretary of the NSDC.
When asked whether the Kremlin had abandoned its plan to “physically liquidate” the Ukrainian president, Danilov noted that there was a “hot period” in late February and early March last year. “We’re not seeing that right now, but the threat to the president is always there. That is why the relevant institutions are working on all this in an appropriate way – he stressed.
According to information from Western intelligence services, Russia planned at the beginning of a full-scale aggression against Ukraine in February 2022 to physically liquidate the leadership of the Ukrainian state. Ukrainian law enforcement agencies reported about thwarted attempts to assassinate Zelensky. Despite the imminent threat to his life, the president did not leave Kiev.
