A tornado wreaked havoc Saturday in the Palm Beach Gardens section of East Florida. The element overturned cars and snapped trees, broke many power lines.
Photos from one of the Palm Beach Gardens car parks show cars stacked on top of each other moved by the force of the element. Buildings were damaged, many power lines were downed, trees were blown down by the wind. The US National Weather Service (NWS) reported wind gusts of at least 160 kilometers per hour.
“It was minutes”
– It just seemed like it stormand then all of a sudden it started to develop a funnel and move towards us fast,” said Spencer Caesare, a Palm Brach Gardens resident whose home was damaged. He added that “it was minutes” from the time the tornado formed to the moment it hit the city.
James Ippolito of the local fire department said one man was trapped between a boat and a concrete pole during the storm. He was taken to the hospital, his condition is stable.
Police urged residents to avoid the area east of the Inland Coastal Waterway along Florida’s east coast “due to storm damage.” Roads were blocked in some places.
