The first information about the emergency services operation appeared on Russian websites just before 8 a.m. local time (9 a.m Poland – red.). After a while, a statement from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations appeared on social media, providing the first official information about the fire.
“In Omsk, firefighters from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations extinguish a fire. Three containers with petroleum products, each with a capacity of 200 liters, are burning on the Krasnoyarsk highway. Initially, the area covered by the fire is 500 square meters,” it was written.
“At location 58 specialists work and 15 units of equipment are involved” – added.
After several dozen minutes, the message was updated. As indicated, fire covered a total area of nearly 1,000 square meters.
The ministry did not provide any information regarding the causes of the fire in its announcements. To the point The Ministry of National Defense also did not respondwhich may indicate that the appearance of the fire was not related to Ukrainian attacks on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Fires at strategic facilities in Russia. Effective Ukrainian drone attacks
Although the fire in fuel containers in Omsk has not been classified as a result of an attack by Ukrainian drones, local government authorities have informed several times over the last 24 hours about the effective strikes of Ukrainian drones on strategic objects.

“The facility was isolated, there was no threat of an attack on the residential district,” wrote a local government official.
Both fires have not been commented on by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
