A fire broke out in a tenement house on Nike Street on Tuesday morning. There was a fire in the apartment on the first floor. “By the time we got there, the fire was in full swing. The fire also spread to the stairwell, which also suffered from the thermal impact. We evacuated one person by means of a ladder and two by the staircase. While extinguishing and searching the burning apartment, we came across a human corpse and this is the fatality in this fire – said Artur Laudy from the capital’s fire brigade.

The fire department has already extinguished the fire.

Cleanup after the fire is underway

Tomasz Zieliński, a reporter for tvnwarszawa.pl, was there. – Firefighting operations are ongoing. The ceilings between the floors were burnt in the apartment because they were boarded. There was a fire so the firemen have to pour it thoroughly, also inside they cover everything with foam. They still throw burnt items from the apartment outside. There is still smoke in some places, so everything is still being monitored, reports the reporter.
