Police officers from Warsaw's Śródmieście district detained a man who attacked passengers in the subway. – He shot at one of the victims with an air pistol – they describe. The suspect heard the prosecutor's charges and was arrested.

The incident occurred on the night of April 24-25.

First, an air pistol attack…

– The 22-year-old drank alcohol in the company of two other men. He was harassing random people and was very loud – describes Jakub Pacyniak, spokesman for the Warsaw I District Police Headquarters.

– One of the passengers reacted and pointed out the aggressor. He attacked the 50-year-old with an air pistol, firing a series of shots at him. The injured party took the weapon from the attacker, which was finally secured by the police – adds a press officer of the downtown police station.

As a result of this incident, the 50-year-old suffered head injuries.

…then tear gas

– In turn, at the next metro stations, the same perpetrator attacked a 16-year-old and a 23-year-old with tear gas. Both victims were provided with medical assistance, Pacyniak informs.

The man was arrested. Tear gas, handcuffs and a pistol holster were also seized.

He confessed but couldn't explain

The case has already been referred to the prosecutor's office.

“Konrad B. was charged with a total of three charges – endangering life or health and causing slight bodily harm (Article 160, paragraph 1 of the Penal Code in connection with Article 157, paragraph 2 of the Penal Code) and two charges of violating bodily integrity by using gas feather (Article 217, paragraph 1 of the Penal Code),” says Szymon Banna, spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. – This man gave a statement in which he admitted to the acts he was accused of. However, he could not indicate the reasons for his behavior, he adds.

Due to the fact that the attacks took place in a public place and without any reason, the prosecutor classified these crimes as a hooligan offense.

The court agreed to the request of the Warsaw Śródmieście-Północ District Prosecutor's Office to impose pre-trial detention on the suspect for three months.
