Three young men suspected of robbery were detained from the Bielany district of Warsaw. According to the officers, the teenagers stole the victim’s shoes, which they were supposed to buy. Additionally, one of them will also be charged with drugs.

The incident took place a few days ago at Opalin Street. The injured party agreed with the buyer to sell several pairs of branded shoes. In addition to the seller, the buyer accompanied by two friends came to the meeting place. After seeing the goods, an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old beat up the seller and took his shoes. He reported the theft to the police and estimated the losses at over PLN 5,700.

Shoes and marijuana stolen from the apartment

The case was investigated by police officers from the criminal division. The officers identified the young men who robbed the injured party.

– A few days later, all three colleagues were in the hands of the police. Two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old were taken into police custody. The police found one pair of shoes in the 19-year-old’s possession, the rest were in the 18-year-old’s apartment, said Elwira Kozłowska, spokeswoman for the Żoliborz police, in a press release.

– During the arrest in the apartment, the second of the 18-year-olds was found to have intoxicants in the form of marijuana. The collected evidence confirmed that the young man repeatedly gave drugs to other people and derived financial benefits from it, she added.

The teenagers were charged

– Those detained at the Żoliborz prosecutor’s office were charged with robbery, and one of the 18-year-olds will also be charged with possession and supply of narcotic drugs for financial gain. Police surveillance was imposed on an 18-year-old and a 19-year-old. Against the second 18-year-old, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, the court applied a preventive measure in the form of pre-trial detention for a period of three months, said Szymon Banna, spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw.

He reminded that committing these crimes is punishable by up to 12 years in prison.
