The Warsaw-Ochota District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw brought charges against the mother of the girl who fell out of the window of the apartment on the first floor. Investigators accuse the woman of improper supervision of her daughter. A passer-by tried to catch the five-year-old, but he only managed to cushion the fall of the child, who is now in hospital.
As Szymon Banna, spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw, told us on Friday, the proceedings in this case are being supervised by the Warsaw-Ochota District Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw and it concerns “exposing a minor girl of five years of age to the risk of loss of life or health by a person who had a duty of care.” .
– When the child fell out of the window of an apartment located on the first floor of a building at Górecka Street in Warsaw, the girl was under the care of her mother. As a result of the incident, the five-year-old suffered injuries in the form of moderate bodily harm under Art. 157 pairs 1 of the Penal Code (Whoever causes violation of the functions of a body organ or health disorder (…) shall be subject to the penalty of imprisonment from 3 months to 5 years – ed.) – he explained.

Banna also noted that the prosecutor asked the hospital where the five-year-old was hospitalized to secure her medical records. – The child’s mother was subjected to a breathalyzer test for the presence of alcohol in exhaled air – with negative results. Nevertheless, blood was taken from the woman to conduct toxicological tests, he emphasized.
The prosecutor explained that the child’s mother, Adriana P., was detained at the scene of the incident. After being brought to the Warsaw-Ochota District Prosecutor’s Office on Friday, a day after the incident, she was charged with “exposing her daughter to the risk of loss of life or serious damage to health by exercising improper supervision of her daughter, which resulted in moderate health damage to the injured party.

She faces up to five years in prison
– By the prosecutor’s decision, the suspect was placed under police supervision, combined with the obligation to appear at a designated unit and a ban on contacting witnesses of the incident and the injured daughter. This act is punishable by up to five years’ imprisonment, the prosecutor concluded.
