Warsaw. Renovation of the streets around Piłsudski Square, the Royal Route will not be a promenade

Just before the May weekend, road workers plan to mill the streets around Teatralny Square. For this reason, on the weekend of April 27-28, Nowy Świat and Krakowskie Przedmieście will not be a promenade. In turn, for three days, Lipowa and Dobra streets in Powiśle will serve as scenography. The film crew will work there from Saturday to Monday.

Road workers will replace the road surface around Piłsudski Square, on Focha, Moliera and Wierzbowa streets. Drivers will make detours and buses will change routes.

The works will start on Friday, April 26, at 10 p.m., and will end on Sunday, April 28, just before midnight. The section from Królewska Street to Senatorska Street will be closed. There will be a stopping ban in the entire area, with information that the vehicle may be towed at the owner's expense.

A detour around the disruptions was marked along Marszałkowska and Senatorska streets.

Wierzbowa and Moliera closed. Detours

Drivers will not turn from Senatorska into Wierzbowa – the ban will not apply to the streets: Wierzbowa, Canaletta, Niecała, Fredry and Plac Teatralny. To ensure exit from Fredry Street and the underground garage of the Metropolitan building, two-way traffic will be introduced on the section of Wierzbowa, from Niecała to the road between the Grand Theater and the Metropolitan. The detour will lead through Niecała and Canaletta streets to Senatorska. In less than a minute, drivers will only get to Canaletto. During the works, it will lose connection with Wierzbowa.

A detour around the closed Wierzbowa Street

A section of Królewska Street will be closed next to the milled road at Piłsudskiego Square. Drivers will not drive from Krakowskie Przedmieście towards Marszałkowska. Instead, they will go in the opposite direction.

Departure from Królewska (the fragment from Pasaż Niżyński to Krakowskie Przedmieście) and Tokarzewskiego-Karaszewicza and Ossolińskich streets will be possible via Krakowskie Przedmieście to Karowa street.

From Trębacka Street you will be able to exit to Kozia – two-way traffic will be introduced.

Four bus lines will run differently

The Municipal Transport Authority announced that detours for the lines: 106, 111, 128 and 175 They will start on Friday around 10 p.m. and last throughout the weekend. Buses from line 106 heading towards the Ostroroga loop will run through Świętokrzyska, Mazowiecka and Małachowskiego Square.

Line route 111 in both directions it will lead through Senatorska, Miodowa and Krakowskie Przedmieście.

The lines will share a common detour 128 and 175. Both of them will end their routes at Grzybowski Square – from Nowy Świat they will turn into Świętokrzyska Street, then they will go to Emilii Plater and Twarda. Driving towards Szczęśliwice and Chopin Airport, they will go straight along Królewska Street to Krakowskie Przedmieście and their normal routes.

Immediately after the first stage of work is completed, on Monday, April 29, milling of Wierzbowa Street will begin at 10:10 a.m. These works will last until Wednesday, May 1, at 4 p.m.

There will be no transport from Senatorska to Piłsudski Square. The detour was marked through Moliera and Focha streets and then through Piłsudskiego Square. For this purpose, there will be two-way traffic on Moliera and Focha.

There will also be two directions on Canaletta Street. There will also be a parking ban here. This way you will be able to reach Niecała.

“Buses of lines 111 and E-2 will run through Senatorska, Miodowa and Krakowskie Przedmieście in both directions,” ZTM said.

The film crew will work in Powiśle

The film crew will be working in Powiśle from Saturday to Monday, from April 27 to 29. On these days, drivers will not pass through the intersection of Lipowa and Dobra streets, and part of the latter will become one-way.

The most important change for residents and drivers will be complete closure of the intersection of Lipowa and Dobra from Saturday, April 27, from 4 p.m. to Monday, April 29, until 5 a.m. Driving along Dobra from the Świętokrzyski Bridge towards the University Library, you will have to turn right or left at the intersection with Leszczyńska. On the other hand, from Karowa there will be a turn sign to Wiślana. Drivers will leave Radna only towards the Świętokrzyski Bridge, and only residents of the building at number 1A will enter Lipowa, from the Copernicus Science Center.

A section of Dobra Street from Karowa to Gęsta will become one-way. Drivers will only drive towards the Świętokrzyski Bridge. From Gęsta Street you can only turn right.

On the streets: Dobra (from Karowa to Lipowa), Lipowa (from Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie to Lipowa 5), ​​and Gęsta (at the height of the building at no. No parking along with information about the possibility of towing the vehicle at the owner's expense.

Public transport buses will run differently. Lines 106 and 118 towards Mariensztat they will run along the following streets: Zajęcza, Topiel, Browarna and Karowa to Dobra. Coaches 127 towards the Browarna loop they will travel along the following streets: Zajęcza, Topiel, Browarna, and towards Nowe Włoch – Karowa, Dobra, Nowy Zjazd, Wybrzeże Kościuszkowskie, Karowa, Browarna, Topiel and Tamka. In turn, the night line N16, only towards the Central Station, will run through the Śląsko-Dąbrowski Bridge, Aleja “Solidarności”, Plac Bankowy and Marszałkowska to Świętokrzyska.
