A review of alarm sirens has begun in the capital. They can be activated during it. The work will last a month.
“Due to the need to carry out an inspection of sirens in Warsaw, on working days from April 24 to May 24, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the sirens covered by the inspection may be activated on a test basis,” said Joanna Bachanek, spokeswoman for the Masovian Voivode. The Warsaw City Hall also provided information.
Bachanek said that as part of the test, individual sirens located in different parts of the city, which are part of the Provincial Population Alerting and Warning System, will be activated. The test will involve turning on the sirens one at a time. The signal will be one- and three-minute, modulated and continuous.
“City residents should not take any action in connection with the occurrence of alarm signals. Information about the test activation of sirens has also been placed in the Regional Warning System,” Bachanek noted.
