Mayor of Warsaw Rafał Trzaskowski shows progress on the construction of the tram route to Wilanów. As he announces, in just a few weeks – from Puławska, through Goworka, Spacerowa, Gagarina, to Czerniakowska – passengers and drivers will travel.

“What's happening at the #TramDoWilanowa construction site! The first tram – this time still technical – has arrived at the new Sielce terminal. In just a few weeks, passengers and drivers will travel along this route – from Puławska, through Goworka, Spacerowa, Gagarina, to Czerniakowska – both ways,” Trzaskowski wrote on the X platform.

As he added, “this news makes us doubly happy.” “The next stage of this largest tram investment in Poland is nearing completion – and thanks to this, the inconvenience for residents will disappear,” assured the mayor of Warsaw.

Further big changes await drivers in the second half of May. The announced opening of Spacerowa in both directions is crucial for public transport diversions. Buses that normally run along Spacerowa Street enter Dolna Street to reach Puławska. – Due to the planned unblocking of Spacerowa, buses will run their regular route in mid-May.

The mayor of the capital also reminded that the tram to Wilanów is an investment co-financed from EU funds.

Deadlines

A few days ago we informed on tvnwarszawa.pl that works on the construction of a tram line in Sielka along Spacerowa and Gagarina streets are coming to an end. The City Hall announced that the first trains with passengers would arrive at the turn of May and June. The opening of Spacerowa to drivers in both directions is expected to take place in the middle of next month.

As we reported on tvnwarszawa.pl, on the night from Friday to Saturday, for the first time since 1973 the tram turned from Puławska Street into Goworka. Tram drivers were testing the turnout at this intersection. – The tram has reached the stop platform. We tested the operation of switches and their control systems. At the same time, we checked the condition of the traction networks. The tests turned out well, said Konrad Niklewicz from the management board of Tramwaje Warszawskie.

Vice-President Michał Olszewski also announced the approximate date of completion of the route. The tram with passengers will most likely run along Gagarina Street at the turn of May and June. He emphasized that this date depends on road works. Also in May, the full road of Spacerowa Street towards Puławska and Gagarina will be completed.

Further big changes await drivers in the second half of May. The announced opening of Spacerowa in both directions is crucial for public transport diversions. Buses that normally run along Spacerowa Street enter Dolna Street to reach Puławska. Due to the planned unblocking of Spacerowa, buses will run their regular route in mid-May.
