Police imagine they’ve the Long Island serial killer in custody greater than a decade after remains belonging to at least 10 people were discovered close to Gilgo Seaside, N.Y.
Rex Heuermann, a 59-year-old man from Massapequa Park, was arrested on July 13 in connection to the murders of three women, in keeping with officers. He was charged with three counts of first-degree homicide and three counts of second-degree homicide, pleading not responsible to all at an arraignment on the next day, per NBC News.
“Rex Heuermann is a demon that walks amongst us, a predator that ruined households,” Suffolk County Police Commissioner Rodney Harrison mentioned at a press convention July 14. “Nevertheless, even with this arrest, we’re not completed. There’s extra work to do within the investigation regarding the different victims of the Gilgo Seaside our bodies that had been found.”
Heuermann’s arrest comes 13 years after the disappearance of Shannan Gilbert, a 24-year-old intercourse employee from New Jersey who vanished in Could 2010 after leaving a residence in Oak Seaside.
