“WOƚP equipment helps us at every stage”

– There is a lot of equipment, we have been working on it for many years, it helps us at every stage. Premature babies lie in incubators that are really super equipped: they have humidification, scales, they can monitor the patient. We have surveillance. We have infusion pumps for administering drugs – mentions BoĆŒena GĂłrewicz, deputy ward nurse at the Neonatology Department No. II im. WOƚP.

In total, 8,152 devices from the thirty previous WOƚP finals were delivered to the hospital at Polna Street.

Doctors hope that this year’s collection will also be used to buy equipment for their facility that will help premature babies. – Premature babies, our patients, are children who, due to their immaturity, with not fully developed immune systems, are all the more susceptible to infections and severe sepsis. The key role is played by its detection as soon as possible in order to start treatment as soon as possible – says Prof. Tomasz Szczapa.
