Wroclaw. Illegal racing, blocked ring road traffic and fireworks

Over 90 inspected cars, 14 fines, 11 registration certificates and two confiscated driving licenses – this is the result of the actions of policemen who made sure that there were no illegal races in the city, who received information that illegal races were to take place in Wrocław at the weekend.

Unmarked police cars set off on patrols on the night from Friday to Saturday. – Officers primarily paid attention to those road users who do not respect the law, who blatantly break them – said Wojciech Jabłoński from the Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

“During the interventions, the officers revealed a number of offences. The police officers detained one driver who did not have a driving license and two driving vehicles that were not approved for traffic” – the police said. Due to exceeding the speed in a built-up area above 50 km/h, two drivers lost their driving licenses.

Blocked traffic and fireworks

On the roadway of the Wrocław Motorway Bypass, at the height of the Rędziński Bridge, participants of illegal races temporarily blocked traffic. The recordings show that fireworks have been set off. “Police officers are analyzing secured recordings and video materials to identify those responsible for breaking the rules, and then punish the guilty” – added.

The highway is not a race track. You can practice your driving skills only in the right places, under the supervision of professional instructors. Such activities will be continued in the future. There is no consent of the Police to break the rules on the road and endanger the life and health of other users.

In total, 93 vehicles were checked and 11 registration certificates and two driving licenses were confiscated. 14 drivers received fines.
