To this must be added the compulsory health insurance premium. As explained by Kozłowski, as a result of the changes introduced as part of the Polish Order, it is calculated individually for each entrepreneur who settles tax according to a scale or a flat tax.

“The largest increase in over 20 years”

Referring to the amount of contributions, the chief economist of the FPP noted that “undoubtedly, we are dealing with the largest increase in the level of social security contributions paid by entrepreneurs in over 20 years.”

– This is an increase of over 17 percent. Over the last 5 years, the average increase in premiums on an annual basis was 6.8 percent. Last year’s increase (by 12.6 percent) was record-breaking, and now we are dealing with an even greater increase, which for the first time exceeds PLN 200 per month in terms of amount – pointed out Łukasz Kozłowski.

Who are affected by the changes?

Changes in the amount of ZUS contributions paid apply to persons who run an individual economic activity and are obliged to pay social security contributions, so they do not have any other insurance title, e.g. an employment contract.
