32nd Economic Forum in Karpacz. BGK received the title of Company of the Year, Czesław Lang received the SGH award

In his laudation, the President of the Polish Bank Association, Tadeusz Białek, reminded that BGK will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year. – The winner is a model example of combining history with a modern approach to business. Thanks to the support of this company, the Second Polish Republic was built, and today it is difficult to imagine the development and modernization of many areas of modern Poland – he said.

– It is worth adding that this year’s winner is present abroad: he supports exports and the foreign expansion of Polish companies. He is the originator, co-founder and main shareholder of the Three Seas Fund, which invests in transport, energy and digital infrastructure in countries the Three Seas region – he listed, then emphasizing the bank’s support for numerous social, educational, historical and cultural projects.

He recalled that BGK was also the founder and is an active member of the Polish Bank Association. – Without the involvement of this institution, the efficient functioning of (…) pandemic aid programs or the implementation of family programs would not be possible – he said. – I think that the combination of so many different fields supported by this institution would not be possible if it were not headed by an exceptional woman – added Tadeusz Białek.

The president of Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego, Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka, dedicated the Economic Forum award to the entire Bank’s staff, emphasizing that “without these fantastic people, without their energy, passion and commitment, it would not be possible for BGK to achieve such successes.”

The president addressed her personal thanks to the prime minister Mateusz Morawieckiwho – as she recalled – once invited her to run this unique institution, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.

Beata Daszyńska-Muzyczka assessed that the distinction of the 32nd Economic Forum in Karpacz was of a special nature. – This is an appreciation of an important institution, operating for almost 100 years, whose mission from the very beginning has been and is to support socio-economic development – she said.

She emphasized that the programs implemented by BGK do not only serve to increase financial capital, but above all to ensure that “along with the increase in financial capital, the so important social capital also increases.”

During Wednesday’s gala, closing the first day of the 32nd Economic Forum in Karpacz, the Warsaw School of Economics award was also presented, the winner of which was the Polish former professional collage, sports activist, organizer of the Tour de Pologne, Czesław Lang.

Rector of SGH prof. Piotr Wachowiak emphasized that Czesław Lang is “a well-liked, modest person with a positive attitude towards people.” – He pursues his passions and dreams. He said that it didn’t matter that the chain fell off or the tires got punctured (…) what mattered was that I was moving forward and had something to train on. This is what sports and business have in common: in sports and business you have to move forward – said Prof. Wachowiak.

He emphasized that Lang was an outstanding cyclist. – He won Olympic silver and was the world champion twice, taking part in the most prestigious races – said the rector of SGH. He added that after retiring, Lang did everything to promote the Polish brand by organizing the Tour de Pologne. – Today we are rewarding an excellent leader of many pelotons who inspires us by doing everything he loves – said the professor. Czesław Lang, thanking for the distinction, emphasized that he watched the Peace Races when he was 10 years old and that cycling has accompanied him ever since. – Today I get on my bike and ride 100-200 kilometers and it gives me great joy – he said. He emphasized that he was always very proud of representing his country.

– I put my heart into the Tour de Pologne, just like into sport. I would like to thank everyone who did this race with me (…), we built this Polish brand and now the Tour de Pologne is one of the most important races in the world – said Lang.

The XXXII Economic Forum in Karpacz started on September 5 and will last until September 7. The motto of this year’s Forum is: “New values ​​of the Old Continent – Europe on the threshold of change.” Its program includes almost 500 events, divided into sections, including: Digitization, Man and Culture, Europe in the world, New economy, New technologies, Reconstruction UkraineState and reforms, International politics.
