The tragic accident took place on Saturday evening in Głobino (Pomeranian Voivodeship). A 24-year-old drunk driver, without a driving license, ran into a tree while fleeing from the police in a passenger car. One passenger died on the spot and the other was taken to the hospital. – Around 20:20, police officers from the Dębnica Kaszubska police station attempted to stop the Peugeot for inspection. However, his driver, despite the light and sound signals, started to flee towards Słupsk – said junior aspirant Jakub Bagiński, press officer of the Municipal Police Commander in Słupsk.
– After a few kilometers, in Głobin, the escaping driver lost control of the vehicle and hit a tree. As a result of this incident, one of the passengers died on the spot, and the other was taken to the ER – continued the policeman.
He was drunk
Bagiński added that the breathalyzer test showed that the driver was drunk. – There was about 1.6 per mille of alcohol in the 24-year-old’s body. The man did not have a driving license. He was arrested and taken to the police station, he noted.
– At the scene, activities are underway with the participation of a forensic technician who secures traces, performs inspection and prepares photographic documentation. On their basis, the exact circumstances of this accident will be determined, the press officer said on Saturday evening.
