The District Court in Brodnica has sentenced a former police officer to 10 years in prison for raping an inmate and sexually assaulting two other detainees. The years that the convict has already spent in prison in connection with the previous sentence will be deducted from the sentence imposed.
A verdict was announced in the District Court in Brodnica in the case of a former policeman who was accused by the prosecutor’s office of raping a woman detained in a police detention center, as well as sexual abuse of two other detainees by leading to the so-called other sexual activities. He had them kiss, touch their private parts and put their hands under their clothes. The man was also charged with attempted rape in another woman’s apartment.
Krzysztof G. was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The court also ordered him to pay compensation and imposed a restraining order on him. The years that the convict has already spent in prison in connection with the previous sentence will be deducted from the sentence imposed.
Let us recall that when the trial started, the former policeman stated in an interview with TVN24 reporter that he had not committed sexual violence. During the interrogation at the prosecutor’s office, he argued that he did not remember the victims and that if he had had close contact with them, it was only during the search of prisoners.
He had previously been sentenced to 2.5 years in prison
This is another ex-police trial. In another proceeding, he was finally sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for sexually abusing a detention center inmate.
The crime happened in 2017. Being the head of the detention center at the Poviat Police Headquarters in Brodnica, the policeman allegedly sexually abused a woman detained for one of the cases in the toilet. According to the investigators, the policeman exploited the relationship of dependence resulting from the fact that his victims were deprived of their liberty and that he was alone with them.
Both the court of first and second instance adopted a different legal classification, namely abuse of powers and sexual abuse of the relationship of dependence. The former officer was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison. He was also banned from working as a public official for 15 years and ordered to pay partial compensation to the victim in the amount of 10,000 zlotys. zloty.
