Dozens of policemen, firefighters and residents of Drezdenko (Lubuskie) were looking for an ailing 39-year-old who left home and did not return. – A police drone with a thermal imaging camera played a key role in locating the missing person – informed the midshipman Tomasz Bartos from the Police Headquarters in Strzelce Krajeńskie.

– Due to the man’s illness, there was a great risk to his health and life. That is why the fight against time was a priority, Bartos noted.

Wounded at night in the forest

Police officers from Drezdenko received a report about the disappearance of a 39-year-old from a concerned family on Monday. The man left home in the morning and did not return. There was no contact with him.

Several dozen policemen from all departments were involved in the search. They were also joined by guides of patrol and tracking dogs and hybrids. Police officers checked nearby buildings, forests, meadows and monitoring. Every lead and signal that could contribute to finding the man was analyzed. The search continued even at night.

Bartos pointed out that the key was the use of a police drone with a thermal imaging camera, which located the missing person despite the darkness in the forest. The 39-year-old was injured and needed medical attention.

The man was found and taken to the care of doctors.
