Easter holidays are approaching. During this period, banks, like most institutions, work non-standard hours. On public holidays, the functioning of the Elixir and Euro Elixir settlement systems also changes. Therefore, it is worth thinking about timely payments well in advance – reminds the National Clearing House (KIR).

Settlements in the Elixir system are normally carried out during one of three sessions held on working days, at: 9:30, 13:30 and 16:00. Public holidays are an exception to this standard.

On Friday, April 7, the Elixir system will operate as on any other business day. However, it should be remembered that transfers ordered after 16.00 on that day will be settled during the morning session of the next business day, i.e. on Tuesday, April 11.

In the case of Euro Elixir – a system that settles transfers in the EU currency (domestic and cross-border) – the break in operation will cover Friday, April 7 and Monday, April 10, because in many European countries Good Friday is the so-called. bank holiday, i.e. a day off from work.

Possibility of express transfer

KIR indicates that, regardless of the Christmas break in the operation of session clearing systems, the Express Elixir instant transfer system remains at the disposal of bank customers.

The system operates continuously, also on weekends and holidays, enabling funds to be transferred between accounts held at different banks.
