Zdzisław Krasnodębski, a PiS MEP for 10 years, this time was not on the party's list of candidates in the European Parliament elections. “We are currently terminating the contract,” he wrote. He added that in such a situation he would be able to “freely formulate his opinions about the team's performance” in which he had been in for a decade and “about good and bad decisions.”
Thursday was the deadline for submitting lists of candidates for the European Parliament elections. Zdzisław Krasnodębski, who was an MEP for this party in the last two terms, since 2014, was missing from the PiS lists. In 2019, he ran as number one in Greater Poland, receiving over 160,000 votes.
Krasnodębski: we are terminating the contract
Krasnodębski posted an entry on this matter on social media on Thursday.
“Politics is a team game and often requires subordinating one's opinions and actions to the goals and strategy of the team. I was an active player of the PIS team for 10 years (I was a PiS supporter for much longer); playing as best as I could, without slacking, as a central midfielder in PE, I tried to pass the ball to the leaders. We are currently terminating the contract and again, without breaking the rules of loyalty to the team, I can freely express my opinions about its play, good and bad decisions, etc., about what I think serves Poland well, and what harm it does,” he wrote on the X platform.
Krasnodębski is a Polish sociologist and social philosopher, habilitated doctor of social sciences, publicist and academic teacher. In 2018-2019 he was Vice-President of the European Parliament.
