Fire hazard in forests. Red spots on the map of Poland

Hot, tropical air flowed into Poland. The Institute of Meteorology and Water Management issued first and second degree heat warnings. The high air temperature combined with the lack of precipitation cause that in many Polish forests there is a very high and sometimes even extreme fire hazard.

The map published by the Meteorological Modeling Center of the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management shows that on Wednesday a very high fire risk is to occur in western and central Poland.

Experts forecast extreme fire hazard for some voivodeships: warmińsko-mazurskie, Podlaskie, Lublin, Greater Poland, Kuyavian-Pomeranian and Pomeranian.

Foresters call for special care when staying in the forests. In case of noticing a fire, you should immediately contact the emergency number of the State Fire Service 998 or with an emergency number 112.
