On Wednesday, high school students took the basic mathematics exam. The National Prosecutor's Office submitted an application in the case of Judge Tomasz Szmydt. Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that he would accept the resignation of four ministers on Friday. Here are five things to know on Thursday, May 9.
1. High school graduates wrote their final exams in mathematics
This year's secondary school graduates have already taken the primary mathematics exam. According to posts published on social media, they are all high school graduates they assess the level of the exam as easy. “Basic Matura exam 100% in 30 minutes” – writes one of them on X (formerly Twitter). “Is this the high school leaving exam or an eighth grade exam?”, “An eighth grader could do these math tasks with 30%,” “Math exam, I finished first in school, it's amazing” – other website users echo her.
On Thursday morning there will be a written exam in English at the basic level. In the afternoon, there will be written exams in other foreign languages at the basic level: German, Russian, Spanish, French and Italian. Taking such an exam in a selected foreign language is obligatory for all high school graduates. For years, they have mostly chosen English.

2. The National Prosecutor's Office submitted an application in the case of Judge Szmydt
The National Prosecutor's Office submitted an application to the disciplinary court of the Supreme Administrative Court to issue a resolution allowing Judge Tomasz Szmydt to be held criminally liable. The National Prosecutor's Office also requests authorization for detention and temporary arrest, said the Minister of Justice and Prosecutor General Adam Bodnar. -Charge: espionage – he added.
Thomas Szmydt had access to case files, which could contain sensitive and even intimate information about state officials and secret service officers admitted to the greatest secrets of Poland and NATO. – Having such a dossier of officials and officers, you can easily select a given person and effectively recruit him or her as an agent – explains attorney Antoni Kania-Sieniawski in an interview with a reporter of “Superwizjer” TVN.
3. Tusk will accept the resignation of four ministers
Prime Minister Donald Tusk, in a conversation with journalists, was asked about the details of the government reconstruction. – On May 10, i.e. on Friday, I will accept the resignation of four ministers – he said.
He assured that “people will start working immediately.” When asked whether the number of ministries would be reduced as a result of the reconstruction, the head of government replied “a little bit.”
4. Ukrainian prisoners will go to the front
Some inmates in Ukrainian prisons will be able to take up voluntary service in the army in exchange for being released from serving the rest of their sentence – according to the law passed by the parliament in Kiev on Wednesday. Those who have no more than three years left to complete their sentence will be able to be released from prison.
Early release from prison in exchange for service in the Ukrainian army would take place at the request of the convict. Convicts wishing to enlist in the army would have to write an appeal to the director of the prison, and a conditional probation period would be granted by court decision.

5. Real Madrid in the Champions League final
