Four-hour Russian attack, Ukrainians report what they shot down

The Russian army attacked Ukraine on the night from Wednesday to Thursday. The targets of Shahed missiles and drones were critical infrastructure facilities.

Natalia Humeniuk, spokeswoman for the Ukrainian troops in the south of the country, said on Thursday morning that the night attack by the Russians lasted almost four hours. The drones were launched from the Kursk Oblast in Russia, as well as from the annexed Crimea.

The target of the attack was energy infrastructure facilities. UAVs were also directed at industrial plants.

In the Zaporozhye Oblast, fragments of a downed drone fell on a building and a fire broke out. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The head of the Odessa region, Oleh Kiper, said that the Russians attacked the region using missiles fired from Tu-22 and Su-30 aircraft, but the missiles “lost their combat capability over the Black Sea area.”

26 drones shot down

The commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleschuk, said in a post on the Telegram channel on Thursday that during the night, Ukrainian defense shot down a total of 26 Shahed drones over the Odessa, Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv oblasts.

Ołeszczuk reported that the Russians attacked Ukraine using 28 drones, three Kh-22 cruise missiles, a Ch-31P anti-radar missile and an S-300 guided missile.
