Thunderstorms with strong gusts of wind swept across eastern Germany. In Berlin, a broken tree branch fell on a bus stop, injuring two people. It was also dangerous in Brandenburg, where a strong wind blew the car off the highway.

Almost 400 interventions
On the night from Monday to Tuesday, storms also passed over the eastern part of Germany, mainly over Berlin and Brandenburg. According to local media, in Berlin alone, the fire brigade carried out 391 storm-related interventions in the evening and at night. The weather emergency was lifted on Tuesday morning.
Two people were injured when a wind-blown branch fell on a bus stop in Berlin-Charlottenburg. The wounded were hospitalized. There was a road accident in the Lichtenberg district – a tree fell on a car by a storm. A 43-year-old man was injured.
In the central part of the city, the damage to the tree stand turned out to be so severe that the local road and park administration warned residents against entering public parks. The storm also caused significant delays on the city’s rail lines.
The wind blew the car off the road
In Brandenburg, three people were injured in Hosena in the district of Oberspreewald-Lausitz when a tree fell on a moving car. Passengers between the ages of 18 and 25 were taken to the hospital, police said.
On the A13 motorway between Baruth and Teupitz there was another accident – a car with a trailer was pushed by the wind against the barrier. No one was injured, but a temporary closure of the route was necessary.
In Krummensee, south of Berlin, the storm swept through the village, uprooting trees and damaging roofs. Removal of the effects of the storm continued until Tuesday morning.
