British police said they had arrested a man who crashed his car into the gates of Buckingham Palace in London. The incident occurred in the early morning hours on Saturday.
The photos in front of Buckingham Palace taken on Sunday show the boarded-up gate into which a man drove into on Saturday. Earlier, photos appeared on social media showing the car that hit this element of the fence.
British media cited witnesses of the event who heard a “loud bang” in this place crowded with tourists.

“Armed officers arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage to property. He was taken to hospital. There were no reports of any injuries. An investigation is ongoing to establish the circumstances,” London’s Metropolitan Police said in a short statement. Buckingham Palace said no members were in the palace at the time of the incident royal familyand the gate repair is in progress.
