IMGW has issued weather warnings. Roads can be dangerously slippery in parts of the country at night. Monday will bring with it strong gusts of wind, which will accompany us around the clock in some places. Check where the aura can be dangerous.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued first-level meteorological warnings and a threat forecast.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – freezing precipitation

IMGW yellow alerts against freezing precipitation have been issued in the following provinces:

Pomeranian and Kuyavian-Pomeranian (in the counties: Tuchola, Świecie, Grudziadz, Grudziądz, Chełmno, Wąbrzeski, Brodnicki, Golub-Dobrzyński, Rypin), where the warnings will be in force from an hour. 1 to 7 on Monday;

Podlaskiewhere it will be dangerous between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Monday;

warmińsko-mazurskie, lubelskie and mazowieckie (in northern and eastern counties), where alarms will be in force from 3 to 8 on Monday;

Light freezing rain is forecast in places, causing black ice.

IMGW alerts of the first degree – strong wind

In addition to freezing precipitation warnings, IMWM forecasters have also issued first degree warnings against strong winds. They apply in the following provinces:

Subcarpathianin the counties: Bieszczady, Lesko, Sanok, Brzozów, Krosno, loom and Jasło. Alerts will be in effect from 7 a.m. Monday to 5 p.m. 6 p.m. on Tuesday;

Lesser Polandin the districts of: Gorlice, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Sacz, Limanowski, Nowy Targ, Tatrzański, Myślenice, Suski and Wadowice. The warnings will go into effect at 10 a.m. on Monday and will expire at 6 p.m. on Tuesday;

Silesian, in the counties of Żywiec, Cieszyn, Bielsko-Biała and Bielski. The alerts will be in effect from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 p.m. 12 noon on Tuesday;

Lower Silesiain the counties of: Kłodzko, Ząbkowice, Dzierżoniów, Świdnica, Wałbrzych, Wałbrzych, Kamienna Góra, Karkonosze, Jelenia Gora, Lwówek and Lubań. The warning will be in effect from 10am to 7pm on Monday.

Wind with an average speed of 30 to 45 kilometers per hour is forecast, with gusts up to 75 km/h, locally 85 km/h, south-west and south. In some regions, there is an option to raise the alert to level two from midnight on Tuesday.

Weather forecast for Monday

On Monday, IMGW plans to issue further strong wind warnings. Second level alerts may apply in the following provinces: Subcarpathian (in southern counties) and Lesser Poland (in the districts of: Gorlice, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Sącz, Nowy Targ and Tatrzański). This means that in places there may be winds with an average speed of 70-90 km / h or gusts developing a speed of 90-115 km / h.

Level 1 warnings against the same phenomenon may also be issued on the same day. They should be expected in the southern parts of the provinces: Lesser Poland, Silesian, Opole and Lower Silesia.

Strong winds may also accompany us on Tuesday. Level 2 alerts are forecast for the same regions as on Monday, but much of the country may be affected by yellow warnings.

They can be issued in the following provinces: West Pomeranian, Lubuskie, Lower Silesia, Opole, Greater Poland, Pomeranian (except south-eastern poviats), Lodz (in the west of the voivodeship), Lesser Poland (in the following poviats: Limanowski, Myślenice, Sucha and Wadowice), Silesian (in the counties: Żywiec, Cieszyn, Bielsko-Biała and Bielski) and Subcarpathian (in the following poviats: Przeworski, Jarosław, Przemyśl, Przemyśl, Brzozów, Strzyżów, Ropczycko-Sędziszów, Łańcut, Rzeszów and Rzeszów).

What is the second degree IMGW meteorological warning

The second degree warning predicts the occurrence of dangerous meteorological phenomena causing large material losses and a threat to health and life. Dangerous phenomena or the effects of their occurrence strongly limit the conduct of business. Expect disruptions in daily functioning. Great caution is recommended, the need to follow messages and the development of the weather situation. Follow all instructions issued by the emergency services in an emergency. Adapt your plans to weather conditions.
