IMWM warns against meteorological threats. In southern Poland, thaw alerts are in force, which will last until Wednesday. There are also frosts in some places in the morning. Check where it may be dangerous.

Forecasters from the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management (IMGW) issued meteorological warnings.

IMWM warnings – frosts

Frost alerts apply in the following voivodeships:

  • Lesser Polandin the following counties: Nowy Sącz, Nowy Targ, Tatra, Limanowa, Sucha and Myślenice;
  • Silesianin Żywiec County;
  • Podkarpackiein the following counties: Bieszczady, Sanok and Lesko.

According to IMWM, the air temperature is forecast to drop to approximately 1 degree Celsius, and at ground level to -3 degrees Celsius.

The warnings will end at 8 a.m. on Sunday.

IMWM warnings – snowmelt

Level 1 warnings against snowmelt are in force in the province. Lesser Polandin the Tatra district.

An increase in air temperature is forecast there, which will cause thaw and melting of the snow cover in the mountains. The minimum temperature will be from 5 to 7 degrees C, only on the first night about 1 degree C. The maximum temperature will reach from 9 degrees C to 13 degrees C, only on Sunday about 6 degrees C. The total rainfall will be up to 5 degrees C in spots. liters per square meter. There will be winds with an average speed of 20 to 25 kilometers per hour, with gusts up to 60 km/h, from the southwest.

The warnings will expire on Wednesday at 18.
