Inflation in April 2024 was 2.4 percent, year-on-year, according to preliminary data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS). Compared to the previous month, prices increased by 1 percent. In March, the increase in prices of goods and services was 2 percent on an annual basis.
The market consensus, i.e. the median of analysts' forecasts, assumed a price increase of 2.4 percent in April. The NBP inflation target is 2.5%. +/- 1 percentage point.
According to preliminary data, in April 2024, prices of consumer goods and services increased by 2.4%. compared to the same month last year.
During the year, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 1.9 percent. In turn, energy carriers became cheaper by 2.3 percent, and the prices of fuel for private means of transport dropped by 1.2 percent.
