Inflation in January 2023 accelerated from December’s 16.6 to 17.2 percent year on year. – As I said in the past months, January and February may be months of inflation rebound – said Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, commenting on the preliminary data of the Central Statistical Office. In his opinion, “from April, May, June inflation will be in a downward trend.”

Because last year we led to the implementation of anti-inflation packages, from which we had to partially withdraw at the request of the European Commission, so we suppressed inflation, for example, in February exactly a year ago. Inflation decreased compared to January last year, which means that inflation, which is always measured year on year, will rebound in February this year, it will be higher – explained the head of the government.
