Inflation in Poland. Jarosław Kaczyński: we couldn’t make it. Andrzej Duda: this is also the result of our actions

On Saturday, at a meeting with the inhabitants of Janów Lubelski, the president of PiS Jaroslaw Kaczynski he spoke, among other things, about the economic situation in Poland. – At the moment, the deficit is reduced and there are no serious threats, unless there is a gigantic global crisis, at the moment it seems that the world is slowly recovering from this crisis – he said.

He noted that the rulers fulfilled their promises, but admitted that disasters such as COVID-19, war in Ukraine and with her inflation. “When it comes to inflation, we didn’t make it,” he admitted. – Well, we conducted a well-thought-out policy aimed at getting out of inflation in a way that would not lead to unemployment, to a crisis, to winding up the mechanism of economic regression – he said.

– We have avoided this and let’s hope that inflation will now fall every month and we will somehow get out of it and not lead to a crisis – he said. He argued that it was a good and well-thought-out policy.

– We also protected people with various tax cuts, all supplements, (…) and today we are close to saying that we succeeded, because if what virtually all economists predict today, that it will be better every month, we can say that we succeeded – he assessed. “You can say that we are not an ideal authority, but we manage” – he added.

President Andrzej Duda on Friday during his visit to Pajęczno, admitted that the actions of politicians contributed to the increase in inflation in Poland. He stated that inflation is “also a result of our actions, which we took here in Poland”.

– I say we made decisions because they were decided by the prime minister, government and parliament. Even during a pandemic coronaviruswhen we were simply handing out money to entrepreneurs so that they could keep their businesses and jobs. So that people do not lose their jobs, the president said.

– The money was paid out, which of course must have caused inflation. We knew this was probably going to happen, but we preferred to cause inflation rather than having jobs go away rather than people not having jobs, he added.

In addition, the president said that he believed that “inflation will soon be suppressed, thanks to a wise policy, and interest rates will be able to be lowered.” – There are very serious hopes for this. I hope they will be able to do so this year interest rate cuts – he assessed.
