Iran announced that the attack was in retaliation for the bombing of the Iranian consulate in Damascus, where several Iranian officers were killed. Over 300 drones and rockets were fired towards Israel. According to the Israeli army, 99 percent of them were shot down. The United States, Great Britain and France, among others, helped with this.

Dr. Patrycja Sasnal, head of research and analyzes at the Polish Institute of International Affairs, assessed that “actually, what happened was in Israel's interest.” – It was a kind of theater. Drones flying in slow motion for several hours from Iran to Israel, so that they could all be shot down and that Iran would respond at the same time, but so that nothing would happen to Israel, she said.

He added that “we can see the strong influence of the Americans” not to escalate the conflict. – Because he has no illusions. If there was a major attack on Israel, the United States would step in and respond, he said.
– The first issue, the most important for the United States today, regardless of the elections, regardless of various types of interests, both Republicans and Democrats, is not to get drawn into a serious war in the Middle East – Pacek emphasized.
